    Table saw.
    Blade is fixed.
No excuse to tangle with it.
    But many do.
As pointed out, speed often a factor.

My dad missing tips of two fingers.
    Maybe thats made me paranoid.

I don't mind a table saw, always use push sticks.
I do not like the saws w the blade exposed underneath........circular saw.
    Won't own one.

If I need one, will hand saw or hire out the job.

True story: Guy was running a re-saw, splitting a 5/4 walnut board about 10" wide. The pitch of the saw changed when he ran out of wood, and sawed the tips of his 3 middle fingers, just nicking the tip of his pointer. A young lady had bent over to pick up her sanding pad.

Friend of mine cut about 2 inches of his pointer finger off one day at work.Wrapped his hand in a towel and went to the front office and told the secretary he needed to go to the hospital because he cut his finger. She said sarcastically how do you know you need stitches? He pulled the tower off and put his hand in her face, she turned white and about passed out.

No. He needs to keep his fingers out of the blade.

If you keep idiot-proofing the dangerous tools, how will we recognize the idiots?

Idiot neighbor in one of the old houses I lived in cut off four of his fingers on a tablesaw. They were only able to reattach the middle finger. LOL

You guys need to work with sheet metal.......:):

If you ain't bleeding you ain't working hard enough.

I do not know how you tin folders do it. I've never even seen one of you guys even wear gloves before. I get sliced open if I walk past anything under plate steel.

Sheet metal and glass have a lot in common. Grip with pressure away from the edge. Balance the work piece. Do NOT slide your grip. If it starts to fall, get out of the way (catching is a really bad idea)

    Near the big river.
Was at a customer location and walked down a walkway that had product stacked next to it banded with steel bands. High forklift traffic area so you had to be on guard. Hit the end of one of the bands sticking out. Got a nice trip to the ER, bunch of stitches in my fore arm and an afternoon off that I didn't want.
