The Bedford seed to be exact. She is 14 and its high time she shot more than the BB gun. She is pretty excited, as am I.

She will be using my only .22, a Ruger 10-22

Now, I could bring the AR, but could just about buy another 10-22 for the price of the .223 ammo need to shoot.

Who has been to the Bedford seed and what is the % of .22 rifles there ?

Anyone got a 10-22 for sale in the Bloomington area?

I have been to five Appleseeds and it was unusual to see someone use anything other than a .22. You will both have a great time.

Id say its a pretty safe bet that someone would be willing to loan you a rifle at the Shoot. I've been to numerous seed's, and I've yet to attend one that at least 1 instructor didn't bring a loaner.

My daughter started Appleseed's about that age. I got her a Ruger 10/22 compact. Shorter & lighter. Easier for a kid to use IMO. It still needs Tech sights or a small scope though... and sling swivels.

I'm taking my daughter to the one in Liberty this weekend. My second and her first. This time I'm shooting .223 and she's shooting .22. I shot .22 last time as did 99% of the class.

I hope it's a good bonding moment for you 2.
