I didn't know about the 800 line of Taurus guns when I bought my 24/7 OSS in .45. I would have liked to have checked out the 845 if only because I prefer the aesthetics of an external hammer. I do enjoy shooting my OSS though.

They've been selling them in the 349.00 to 389.00 range since the last 1500.

I'll never buy a striker fired gun, I want that hammer.

p.s. 800 series has been in the stores since last June, and the now have the 822 (.22 lr).

The 822 is built exactly from the same frame that the 809-840-845 uses and has either a 4 inch or 6 inch slide.

You can also buy the conversion kit for it, simply remove the slide (insert your model here 809-840-845) and insert the special 10 round mag and now you got a cheap plinking handgun.

I plan on buying one asap. (6 inch bbl)
