    Hey everyone's how's it going? I
havent been on this forum long but
so far it's been great everyone's
been friendly and helpful and very
knowledgable. As for me I don't
    know that much about handguns.
i always hunted with my dad growing
up so know a little more about long
guns, but I like to target shoot
    and have a handgun around
for home protection. I've had a
glock 21sf .45 but had to much kick
for my tiny wife. So I switched to
Sig 229 Elite stainless in 9mm
and she can shoot it great. But
gun was pricey so have to sell
glock and this tec 22 sport I
to pay the bills. The only problem
is the tec 22 won't shoot. It looks in
great shape and I always kept it
cleaned and oiled but now it just clicks
when I pull the trigger. Like I said
i have very minimal knowledge on
the inside workings of guns, first
thing that came to my mind was the
firing pin or spring but since it
clicks I figured more like the pin.
    does anyone have any advice
for me on figuring out what part
is actually bad. And if so is it something
i could fix myself or would I need to
take it in somewhere. If I do need to
take it in does anyone know a good
gunsmith or someone that works on
guns relatively cheap in northwest IN
in the Merrillville area or within 20-30
miles. I've never had to take a gun
in before but if was say the firing
pin what would be the cost if I had
to take it in, just ruff estimate.
Money is tight right now had first
Cancer surgery may 6 and found
I need at least one more coming up
soon, I just called local gun store
to see how long before their
gunsmith could look at it and he
said 6-8wks are they all this long?
Thanks for any advice and have
a good rest of the weekend.

I don't have any experience with this gun, but I'll request some information that may help the next guy that comes along...

What do you mean by "it clicks when I pull the trigger?" In most handguns I'd be concerned about the function if it didn't click. :dunno:

First I'd like to wish you well on the cancer treatment. I am hopeful you will kick it's ass!! Treatments are amasing these days.

Please use paragraphing. It makes reading and following along a lot easier. A lot of time I skip over long paragraph post but i try to hang in there in the smithing threads.

Lots of things can cause this issue. Sadly I am not familiar with this gun. Not sure if it is hammer or striker fired? I'd verify the assembly is correct if you have had it apart. Then it's going to bee looking for worn parts. Weak springs?

The click sound is a sign that something released and what ever it isn't moving, or isn't moving with enough force.
