Ted Nugent is an idiot. I thought he said he'd be dead or in prison by now? He has the right to say what he wants but I have the right to change the channel.

I listened to what was linked above. I didn't hear anything that I thought he was wrong about....but his over-the-topness doesn't make him much of a spokesman, but I'm unsure if he even wants to be a spokesman, or whether he just wants to say what his own thoughts are.

Can't imagine why anyone would listen to someone who admitted to soiling himself so he could dodge the draft.

He didn't. Ted made up that story as a joke on a radio show decades ago and then got published in some magazine. Go hate on Sly who fled the country to make porno movies until it was safe to come back....and become Rambo.

It all depends on which story you believe. I have heard 3 different story's on the draft account from his different interviews over the years. I do agree with him about the Trayvon & 2A issue's but the rest.... I think he's full of :poop:...... literally...

Does anyone really have a problem with someone who dodged the draft during the Vietnam era? With the benefit of hindsight it seems the draft dodgers were right. Can't think of anything in Vietnam worth 60,000 American lives.

I think before anyone can honestly answer that question you must first ask your self's is ANY war/conflict worth the price of a lost human life? (not just Americans, and not just in our modern times... but from the beginning of mankind).

    If so, why?

    If not, why?
What common denominator is behind any war/conflict? (from the beginning of mankind)

My thought would be for the very existence of this web sight... not just for firearms 2A right's, but why every human being on earth does not have the right to bear arms, and live their lives as they wish without intervention from a tyrant government. (as long as they have not committed a crime against humanity.)

And I happen to work with a gentleman who lived close to the (what we call) North Vietnam border as we know it today. There is not one day that goes by that he does not thank & pray for our service men & women that saved his life.

Yes, I believe some wars are worth the cost of human life. Fighting tyranny or to defend your home is perfectly justifiable from my point of view. What's not justifiable is forcing American citizens to fight wars on the other side of the world to defend the freedom of others. If Americans want to voluntarily go and help fight communism or tyranny in Vietnam then I'm all for it.

Well, you really didn't answer the common denominator behind all wars, but you did make a point.

According to your comment logic (as our most modern wars) I think it's safe to say that you do not agree of the decision to send our troops to WWI & WWII? (WWII before Pearl Harbor)

I don't know that there is a common denominator behind all wars, other than the desire for increased power by the leaders. I agree with the decision to not enter WW2 until we were attacked, yes. I don't think we should have been involved in WW1, although German agression at sea could be a valid reason to declare war.

Fair enough.. I respect that you are speaking your mind and in a honest way. :yesway: I feel that all wars are fought from one common denominator (all though there could be more than one), but the main reason IMO is freedom from an tyrant source.

    Have a good night.

Guess you didn't read the either article.

You didn't read the last one, or at least the end of it. There is no proof to back up your statements. Even snopes had to confess to that. But Ted haters will always use that to further their cause. Personally I don't blame anyone for not wanting to go to Nam and get their butt shot off. My brother got drafted and then volunteered to go to Nam when he didn't have to......and he wishes he never had. Our Government screwed 60,000 who died over there, and the thousands who have suffered since.

Guess you can call me a hater because the way I read and interpet the snopes article is alot different than what you are reading. What I get out of the article is that they can't prove he got out of the draft by soiling himself but snopes does prove that he received deferments so he could dodge the draft.
As far as soiling himself his story has changed as much over the years as BHO supporters reasons for voting for him.
