I remember some discussion on here several weeks ago about how foolish a Virginia grocery store was for banning a man who walked in with an AR-15. Virginians will not over-react to this, but there have been numerous incidents of mass-shootings in the state, some that made national news, some that did not. We are sometimes suspicious of people carrying unusual weapons under odd circumstances. We also don't require any kind of permit to open carry a pistol.
To begin, prayers for the victims. Two shot. One airlifted. May God give the families strength to endure this.
Apparently the perp left online messages shortly before the shooting indicating he had a Stevens 320,(a 12 ga pump) with buckshot and slugs.
He also indicated that his only shooting experience was at a Police Citizen's Academy.
He was reportedly subdued by off duty security and local police.
Unless LEOs were right on top of this guy, or there was an equipment failure such as an inexperienced shooter "short stroking" the pump... I wonder if somebody didn't get to him before the cops. Hope there was a CC holder involved.
In the last mall shooting it didn't come out for a while that a CC guy confronted that shooter with his weapon, but could not shoot because of people behind the shooter. By the time he had a good shot, the shooter had already decided the jig was up and shot himself. Many people were already back asleep by the time that detail came out, and the mainstream media let it slide.
It is easy to feel powerless in these times of crisis. If you believe in the power of prayer, don't forget to use it along with those calls and letters to your elected officials and especially hope you'll join in prayers for the victims and their families.
These nutjobs certainly
are doing us no favors.......
Didn't read anything about an armed citizen, but as has been pointed out, this sort of thing is often glossed over because it doesn't fit the gun control mantra.
