    Marlin 36G

Glenfield was Marlin's discount store brand. Looks like the model 36g was a 336 with a birch stock and a half magazine.

according to the 2nd post here Seeking info on Marlin 36G - Marlin Firearms Collectors Association there were 5390 of them made between 64 and 65. I also saw a thread on marlin owners that said around 10,000.

At any rate, it is a low production marlin, however, I don't see it being more sought after for that fact. Value wise, it'd probably go for around the same as a 336 of the same condition.

After 65 Marlin started the Glenfield 30 model.

Not particularly collectible, but it's a great shooter.
If you can hunt on private land, it will be legal for deer this fall, so that would be my suggestion for you.
