Hard copy here. I would also recommend "The Book of Five Rings". Link here: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Book-Five-Rings-Miyamoto-Musashi/dp/1590308913/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287076776&sr=8-1]Amazon.com: The Book of Five Rings (9781590308912): Miyamoto Musashi, Thomas Cleary: Books[/ame]

    Yes, several different editions.

For younger children I recommend an illustrated edition Sun Zi Speaks from the ROC. My nephews received this last year.

I just downloaded a copy to my touch from the Gutenburg project yesterday, it is next on my to-read list as soon as I finish "On War" by Carl von Clausewitz.

I have The Art of War, The Book of Five Rings, Hagakure, and another one that's not as popular but just as good imho, "Thick Face, Black Heart". The Book of 5 Rings really woke me up to the fact that I really need to be carrying 2 handguns at any time instead of one.

Lucky enough to have studied Sun Tzu and Clausewitz plus a few others at Command and Staff under some damn smart guys. Salute to RichardR on reading Clausewitz, not a small undertaking but worthy. Their writings are valid at all levels of war from tactical to strategic. Musahi is of course another great read.

I have both and have read them both. Clausewitz is a bit more tied to the weapons of his time while Sun Tzu I feel offers more broad based advice that is applicable to many different situations.

Has anyone studied the Economic Theory of Games and looked at its applicablility to strategy and tactics? The Compete Strategyst by the Rand Corporation is very good if you can find a copy.

It used to be on the Commandant's reading list for SNCO's in the Marine Corps. I wonder if its still required reading.

I did a report for the Art of War in elementary or middle school. I was introduced to it via Sid Meier from the computer game "Civilization" as the Art was a cultural referent in the game. I had a nice copy I received from Barnes and Noble. I've not read Five Rings or anything else but if Juggernaut recommends it, it must be G2G!
