Did the fishbowl effect you mentioned go away under actual shooting conditions?

No magic. Remove plate, install optic with supplied screws.

I did not even think about or notice the fishbowl effect during live fire.

It was like a interactive, hands on show from the history channel. You ask about one, he hands it to you to inspect, as he tells you the history of it. You then realize that this old gun belongs in the Smithsonian, and you’re trying to set it down, before you hurt it. Then he hands you ammo for it.
