    Had a friends whose dog did that, but it swallowed it too. Took hours at the vet trying to get the quills out; didn't kill it and it lived on for years. Meanest dog I ever knew; cross between a St. Bernard, Black Lab and maybe wolf...no one really knew. The owner always wondered if his dog (Jaws) or my dog (Great Dane Doby Cross) would win a fight (that never happened), but I think Max would have taken him because he had speed, maneuvering and jaw power that was equal or better than Jaw's. I know because max had paired off against a Rottweiler on a couple of occasions not on any owners intent. Speed and maneuverability make a difference especially when you are bringing over 200lbs and 45+mph to the fight.
