The future of IDPA Magazine capacity

I have always believed that the 10 round maximum magazine capacity in IDPA was intended to keep all competators in the United States on an equal playing field. Does anyone know if this is true and, if it is, has anyone heard (or have any ideas) about it being changed to seven rounds since the Legislators in New York don't trust their citizens with more than that in a magazine?

IDPA was started when there was a 10 round magazine capacity in effect.

They have not changed nor do I see them making any changes because of new york

To the OP, nothing changes for IDPA type competitions in New York. Check section 7-f of the legislation

If there were a legal limit on magazine capacity that means more strings with tactical and emergency reload practice.
