The administration has now officially lifted the ban on deepwater drilling in the gulf because its now safe with new regulations.... Nevermind that rigs have left, nevermind that we have subsidized others to do it (Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil), nevermind that people have been out of work for 3 months, nevermind that most of those companies won't come back because of the possibility of more shut-downs, nevermind that it will take 4-6 weeks for the new regs to be put in place, nevermind that all the platforms need to reapply for new permits.....

Never let a crisis go to waste when you can pretend that you've accomplished something by writing some words on paper and then giving private business the opportunity to employ people again. Hmmm, you think its because of the election?

I'm just getting sick of this.

Big revenue for the government comes in from oil in the gulf. No way it will be cut off for long.
