House is warm, gardener is happy. Later this week it's going to get really cold so we will probably burn from 0800 to 2000. Right now fire starts at 1200 and we let it go out at 2000.

When it gets sub 40*s we have a fire in the box.
I can get it stoked up and it will heat all night long. 4:30 this A.M. I put 2 pieces in it and re-adjusted the air.....comfort.
It was not cold in the house when I did that.

House drops about 10 degrees after the fire stops and we shut down, about the same on a 12 hour burn which we use during really cold weather.

The front room with the stove gets pretty toasty. 82*/85* or a bit higher if I let the air vents stay to far open. Seldom anybody in there. The rest of the house will stay 72* with the furnace fan running. About an hour before bedtime I set the fan function to Circ. which cycles the fan every 5 minutes or so. The bedrooms cool off to deep sleep temps. When I check it in the wee hours (Pee-Pee time) the front area is still in the high 70's.
If I let it go all night (unless it is stupid cold) the furnace burners never fire.

Youngest is at the gym in town, he's got the gardener's car so we know he can get back up the hill.
