I see a lot of stupid stuff.
I see a lot of stupid people.
I thought I’d seen all the stupid there is.
    I was wrong.

Today I was sent to take a report of shots fired into a house. This house was in a dense older neighborhood inside 465. So I get there and end up finding one of the projectiles inside the house. It was a 12ga slug. In ‘hood shootings, shotguns are relatively rare, and when they are used, it’s mostly birdshot. Well this time it was slugs, which is super rare. So I go outside and look for evidence. At this point in the story I’ll just cut to the chase. The neighbors across the street had set up an impromptu shooting range in their fenced back yard. They drove a stake into the ground and had a stock pot on top that was shot full of holes. There were a pile of 12ga hulls about 30 feet back from this target. The only backstop was a wooden privacy fence. So these idiots were blazing away with slugs and they were all going into their neighbor’s house. Thankfully the neighbors were not home when this happened, but only came home to find the resulting damage.

It’s going to take some serious work to top that level of stupid.

Didn't you use to live next door to these people? Or was that another idiot?

But seriously, how accurate were they on hitting their target? You know a few rounds going astray can happen
