The reason I hang around with car people too - this is worth a watch

Guns are a passion for me - as are cars. The people I have met through these two hobbies are, almost without exception, the most selfless people I know.

I am into Factory Five Shelby Cobra replicas and on another forum a gentleman who was diagnosed with ALS and was trying to sell his half finished car because he knew he couldn't finish.

A group of absolute strangers from that forum convinced him not to sell and they drove from as far away as California to spend their weekends in his Tennessee garage to finish the car for him. Vendors donated any remaining parts and members donated to pay any outstanding expenses.

We finished the car in about 8 weeks for him and he got to drive it 8 or 9 times before he passed away in 2010. His wife now drives it in his memory every once in a while and can feel him riding shotgun she says.

The last couple of weeks I had somewhat forgotten that no matter what happens, there will always be people in this country who give of themselves without a second thought. It was nice to see this video as a reminder of that and remembering back about Don's car made me feel a bit better.
