I'd like to know why you say "Judeo-Christian"? I am unaware that ANY founding father was Jewish.

Edit: After watching the video, I have to say, I never heard the second verse.

But also, as a Pagan; It is painful to see Christians downed so much. And to rebuttle the Speaker in the video, the Politicians atleast from what I see dont give a hoot about the People are they're faith, if they're Christians... Be a new age freak, or some muslim and you get what you want..

Im not sure how many of you are aware of the following.

For those who don't know, Larry David is the creator of Seinfeld and the current creator and star of the popular HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.

But holds the phones if the child molesting prophet muhammad is even shown, then it's time to go to war; Mind you, both larry david, and the South Park creators are liberal/communist...

    Actually the fourth verse.
Saw him on fox and friends.
He stated the old hymnal he had, only had the two verses and he came to find out later there are four verses.

I received that link in an email today, from an old friend that lives in Florida.
It gave me goosebumps when I watched for the first time.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Does INGO allow Theological speech?:ingo:

The following is written as an INGO member who has watched these conversations for a couple of years plus, not as a mod with the ability to close threads, issue bans, etc.

Conversations about religion tend to go very badly when we have them, unless any and all parties do one thing, and that one thing is to respect that the other person's point of view is as valid as is their own. That is to say, people of many different belief systems all think that their particular Book is the only right way, and many claim that that view is justified and correct because the ________ says so! That is their right to believe as they see fit, just as it is anyone else's right to believe in a different Book or no book.

Almost invariably, the conversation degenerates into snark and namecalling, which gets it closed and gets people infracted or temporarily banned.

You want to claim to be a worshipper of Thor, Vishnu, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, that's your choice. My recommendation is that if someone argues with you, you either do not reply or if you must, simply say something to the effect of "Thanks for your input."

I won't guarantee you that the thread won't be closed, depending on the actions of others or your own level of snark, if any, but following this advice makes thread closure, infraction, or ban much less likely.

    Correct:

O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
    Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen thro’ the mist of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream
’Tis the star-spangled banner. Oh! long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war’s desolation,
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n-rescued land
Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto—“In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Yes, And yes I believe courtsey is a must, not just on a theological basis.

INGO allows members to create 'social groups'.

I hope Im not coming off as "Anti-Christian" :n00b:

I don't think you are, not at all. FWIW, I call myself a Christian, but I grow equally weary of "Christian nation" threads as I do Christian bashing threads. I don't believe in mixing faith with patriotism or Church with State. The State always grows stronger at the expense of whatever comes into contact with it, and to allow/encourage faith to be thus corrupted is IMO counter to the entire message of Jesus.

I get the impression that "Judeo-Christian" makes reference to the fact that Christianity arose out of Judaism and that the two religions hold a lot of common ethics and beliefs.

    What he said...

And for more info you can view this wiki entry... Judeo-Christian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Otherwise, the OP is a shining example of the bastardization of public education.
