I was in E. Christopher Firearms in Miamitown, Ohio, an absolute mecca of classic firearms of every description (regrettably, an establishment that ceased to exist with the death of its owner many years ago). He had a cased pair of Colt Single Action Armies. One was nickle plated in .44-40, the other blue in .45 Colt. Both had 7.5" tubes.

I was a very young man and their cost was just too big a percentage of my poke. I've been kicking myself in the a** ever since.

I was eying one at the 1500, and a man came up, "I saw a nicer one over there."
"Oh thanks, I'll check it out."

I look back and see that guy handing over money for that SVT-40.

Man, that's just cold. Bitter Cold.

My wish list gun is an Anschutz 1518 Mannlicher in 22 magnum. Had one in my hands at a gunshow one time. What a beautiful piece. They wanted 1000 bucks. I was with my poor brother at the time, and didn't want to look like I was showing off that I could spend 1000 on a rifle. I'll never make that mistake again.

Either a Dan Wesson Specialist in distressed finish or the Dan Wesson Wraith. Ideally, I'd love to see the features of those two combined, but doubt I ever bring myself to drop that kind of money on a pistol.

Magnum Research makes several 10/22-based 22 mag semi-autos. Even takes the Ruger magazines. Just offering the info, in case you didn't know. I have one, and it's a fine rifle.

Was thinking Magnum Research makes a 10/22 magnum, didn’t all the Ruger 10/22 magnums get recalled?

I don't recall if the Ruger's got recalled, or they just stopped making them. They did have some issues with out-of-battery Kabooms. The Magnum Research version has an additional gas block under the barrel that compensates for pressure variations in the different type rounds. Of course, you still want to keep the chamber clean to avoid the bolt not closing completely, but I'm not that fastidious with cleaning, and I've never had a problem. I have the one with the carbon fiber wrapped barrel, in the Hogue rubber stock, and it's super lightweight and very accurate. One of my favorites to walk the woods with.

I don’t want for much, but I’ve always wanted a Browning BDM. It was the first gun I felL in love with as a kid. Pretty sure I had a plastic toy replica and looking through catalogs I found out it was a BDM. I thought it’s DA/SA switchability was the coolest thing ever when I was ten.

Lol white whales aren't just things you're too cheap to get, it's something you occasionally catch a glimpse of enough to keep your interest but without a chance to get it.

lets add a little scarcity at least lol
    Steyr GB
    Mateba

https://www.classicfirearms.com/iwi...o-9mm-pistol-15-rd-steel-satin-nickel-finish/ if you aren't too picky on the finish and don't mind SA and (far superior) frame safety.

I own a Steyr GB and it's nice. Mags are rare and expensive, but that's really the only downside.

Never seen a Mateba for sale in person. Seen plenty over the years on Gunbroker and the bidding was always brisk.

With Gunbroker and the various auction houses (Rock Island, Morphy, etc.), pretty much anything is accessible if you are willing to spend the money.
