I’d highly recommend Amazon “Blink” indoor and/or outdoor cameras. I bought some after a recommendation from my neighbor. Battery operated so no cutting of power issues. Fairly good day & night IR videos, motion detector, view directly on your phone/IPad. Stores video clips, has dual way microphone/speaker communication & fairly inexpensive.
My neighbor was in Costa Rica and called me to check on the dude lurking around his house (his older model didn’t have the two way comm) otherwise he could do like mine and say “what are you doing here?” The speakers aren’t the best for someone to hear you, but are ok.
