Can't decide whether to build or buy off the rack yet.

Just want one for.........well.......because I just want one! :D

(Target shooting, the occasional varmint and the fact that there are people in this world that say we shouldn't have them at all.)

If I buy off the rack I'll probably wait a few months until prices get back to normal.

I was also considering getting a stripped lower sooner and go piece at a time to build what suits me. I'm mechanically inclined so building wouldn't be a problem.

My question is: If an AWB was to go into effect (God forbid) would I still be able to get the remaining components, assuming I already have the lower (and a couple of 30rd mags just in case)?

Yes, the lower is all that matters. As long as it was manufactured before a potential law goes into effect, you should be good to go (assuming grandfathering) but I strongly doubt an awb will get passed. All other parts will still be available.

    Thanks JollyMon!

That's what I kind of figured. I'll probably go the DIY route. That way I don't have to drop a chunk of change at once and I can build it the way I want it.

I've been needing a fun project to work on anyway. :)

If you enjoy building stuff, then the accumlation build process isn't so bad.

I get impatient and buy too much at once and the wife starts complaining.
