Thinking of some new grips for my P229

I love my Sig 229, I shoot it every chance I get.

I'm looking at doing a little upgrade and I was looking at some grips.
Expensive as they may be I like the look of the aluminum matte checkered from hogue, also the G10's.

Here's what I want to get from it; I want the grip to be a little slimmer. I know the aluminum ones will do this for me...will the g10 as well? Anyone know? Its not evident from numerous sites what the exact width of these are.

If you want slimmer grips then you need to get E2 grips and do the conversion.

How hard is that to do? I read somewhere that I would need to replace a spring and a bar, and it might possibly disallow me from using the 15rd 228 mags I've been using

As for the G10 grips, the ones I got for my P6 are slimmer than factory.

How would it disallow for using a 15rd mag? By changing the grips you are not changing the magwell.
