Ok, he was an undercover "dick" rising to the occasion and flashing his badge. He was practicing for when he meets the real dangerous criminals. He was hoping that while practicing, they would notice how he was rising to the occasion he would be a perfect fit for the job. Although in the beginning had a small part, he was hoping that with practice, he would become a larger presence in society by becoming more received as a force not to be reckoned with. Hoping that someday, he'd be bigger than life.

His undercover name was johnny, just for this short detail......
