Romney is nothing more than Obamatard-Lite. He is no true friend of sportsmen, of gun owners, or of our constitution. And to suggest that we have to vote for him as the lesser of two evils is absurd. What this country needs is a shift back to our roots, to true freedom and liberty; not this watered down version that the powers that be want you to choose.
Wake up, my countrymen, and smell the B.S. that is being force fed to you by your masters! Have you not noticed that the media rarely speak of Ron Paul, and that an abundance of their attention is focused on Mitt and Newt - by far the two WORST candidates? We need to back a candidate that has ALWAYS had our backs - Ron Paul. In his career, has he flip-flopped like Mitt and Newt, or has he always stuck to his guns and stayed a Constitutionalist?
When our founders framed and signed the Constitution, they knew it was not a perfect system; as it did have some flexibility. It gave room to compromise, which is necessary to the welfare of a free society. IMHO, neither Mitt nor Newt have our better interests in mind; for them I feel it is a power grab, and nothing more.

I understand your rant. However, the situation is what it is.

Paul has virtually no chance of getting the nomination. And Gingrich has very little chance of succeeding vs. Obama.

I think I picked the wrong post to be pragmatic...

I'm not trying to defend the guy, but why does every post in this sub-forum end up with with hyperbolic rants against so-called communist, socialist and fascist? Just because some interprets a vague clause written 200+ years ago doesn't make them evil, no more than my love of "assault weapons" makes me evil.

Chris Cox's essay seems to be the epitome of paranoia. The first lady said nothing about gun control yet he used a vague state to believe that she is out to get us (of course, it probably is true in some sense).

I've been a long time member of the NRA and tears formed in my eyes as I gazed upon the bright emerald office building. But at some point the rhetoric coming from all sides just turns me off.

Why can't anyone in politic speak straight instead of giving me ear candy?

I can give you some straight talk.

fearless leader is a statist. If you can show me something contrary to that, please do.

Further, statism and individual liberty are not compatible. As one expands, the other must by definition recede.

Given that fearless leader is a statist and the natural rights documented in the Second Amendment are individual rights, the two are not compatible. fearless leader is a threat to individual liberty, as are all statists.

If Michele feels changes are needed, lets start at un arming her Secret Service agents. Give them a banana to carry instead of their issued Sig Sauers. No more White House armed guards, no more range quals, dissolve the borders and give ATF/Homeland Security a flashlight to watch illegals entering with drugs, child slavery, etc. Take away limos, no more helicopter trips, park Air Force One, fly commercial rates are cheaper.
Pay rent at the White House, electric, gas, water. Hell, move out to a Section 8 apartment and volunteer for a couple of weekends painting and fixing drywall.
How about getting all congress to work a full 8hrs a day, 5 days a week, take a holiday day off, not 2 weeks. Whew, now we are saving dollars.

I would say that the primary problem issue is that our Constitution was designed to be exactly the opposite of British constitutional law. In a reaction against constitutional law being little more than the cumulative body of precedent, our founders created a definitive document to represent constitutional law. Unfortunately, our nation is now awash with domestic enemies who wish to in practice follow the British model such that they can do whatever they please provided that they have a 51% vote.

As for Michelle, she did not make any overt reference to the Second Amendment, but Obama-brand statists oppose individual liberty in most every form, hence the reference to judicial appointments is truly chilling.

Excellent suggestion. I would only add that if we bring those people out and get them shooting with suppressed rifles, we can address their irrational fears of guns and dispel the myths about "silencers" at the same time.

Great points indeed......

BUT......

While you can lead people in the direction to become pro 2A, there are masses who will not be converted because of their ignorance and hate.

Those are the ones who lean on the false pretense that LEO's are there to protect us and they fail to realize that they are a reactionary force not a proactive participant in preventing harm to us and our loved ones.
