She's not a member of the royal family. Her sister is, but Pippa is just a commoner. That said, if things happened the way the French have said, she may well go to jail, popular commoner or not.

From the sound of it, she wasn't even involved. She just happened to be in the car with a complete moron but, according to French law, may now be guilty by association.

Commoner or not, I would be freaking amazed if she saw the inside of a cell over this.

I would like to see the outcome of this. I too would assume she walks free from it...now the other guy probably won't be so lucky.

How can england arrest her when it happened in Paris? It's probably a replica, thse are common in the UK. The problem in the UK is that no one repects guns because they've never beenallowed to use them. Therefore even adults behave like children when a hand gun is present.

England may have to arrest her due to extradition treaties between England and France, or simply because she's a high-profile celebrity (and related to royalty) and allowing her to freely commit a crime in France and avoid consequences by skipping home would create a diplomatic nightmare. I suspect that she wouldn't be arrested, but that the Crown would "strongly encourage her" to return to France to face any charges. I also strongly suspect that some back-channel dealing between the Crown and the French police would see nothing more than a hand-slap and perhaps an order barring her from returning to France for a year or something.
