I have been looking for a new rifle to buy in 300 win mag. I was really leaning towards a remington 700 seeing as I have on in 22-250 and love it. My local gunshop recommended a T/C Venture instead. Any thoughts or suggestions for or against this rifle? I can't find very many personal reviews for this rifle and don't want to spend $500 and hate the gun. Thanks.

Have a venture in 22-250 and also have a 700 in 22-250 venture shoots just as good as the remmy has a great trigger out of the box. i would still go with the 700 the bolt is was eaier to manipulate for faster follow up shots, since their are only 2 lugs instead of the ventures 3lugs. the only reason i have the venture, i got one of those deals that you cant pass up.

Or if anyone has any other suggestions on another rifle. I am wanting to keep it around $750 or less if possible. I prefer to buy new also if I can.

i bought a tc venture brand new in 243. i never shot it before i built a rifle for the same purpose and sold the venture. but i really liked the feel of the rifle.

my only problem is that noone made a base for the rifle at the time (that could have changed by now) it came with cheap bases and that was the only option.

I have two Icons which are the more expensive version of the Venture. I like these guns. I think the Venture is the best bargain value wise in the gun world. How many guns are there with excellent triggers, guaranteed to shoot MOA or better, for under 500 NIB?
