Throwing target stand

Looking for suggestions on how to make a throwing axe target stand. Well, the stand itself I can figure out (though I'll still welcome ideas) it's really where I could get some cut tree trunk sections for the target surface itself. (no access to chainsaw or tree sections)

If you were closer I could hook you up, but I'm sure someone closer to Indy has a tree and a chainsaw.
