Is this done by the same people as the Alexandria show last weekend? Anybody know if it will be any bigger/better? Thanks

No it's a different promoter, it's put on by the same people that do Muncie. Bigger and better, honestly can't say, I didn't go to Alexandria.....:@ya:...Duce<><

What he said. Same people as Muncie I think it might be a little bigger than Muncie.

This is the promoter that doesn't care about the safety of his customers and vendors and is only worried about collecting his $5 door/admission fee.

Knife Lady and I will no longer do his shows or promote them.

Usually a pretty good show. I remember going to a couple of Indy 1500 shows and never seeing a S&W Mdl 25-2 revolver in 45 ACP. Then at Tipton, I saw three in one show. Same for other classic handguns and military bolt action rifles. It has expanded to two buildings and the aisles are fairly wide.

Maybe I'll make it, but after reading the above, I'm not sure I want to support that promoter. Not that I'm the boycotting guy, but it may just make complacent to stay at home for the weekend.

I agree with you that the show owner should have called the cops or at least escorted the offender off the property. What I don't understand is why the Knife Lady didn't call the police. In a situation like that, I certainly would have called them myself. :dunno:

You are correct...in hindsight we should have called the police.....but at the time...things were happening very fast and Knife Lady was all shook up and upset and we were trying to work with the promoter without ruffling his feathers and causing more of a commotion during the show than there was at the time.

Bottom line is, after talking to the promoter on Sunday morning (next day) it was obvious that he doesn't care about his vendors and his only concern was the money that he makes from the admission/door fee. His lame excuse for not calling the police had nothing to do with "they won't do anything", but more of the fact that he didn't want the "bad" publicity for his show that would have possibly hurt his bottom line$$. :twocents:

Note: I'm not trying to hurt this promoter or his shows, I'm just stating why Knife Lady and I are no longer doing his show. The promoter is actually a pretty good guy despite the fact we feel he handled this particular situation wrong. The Tipton show is a pretty decent show and I would encourage anyone that wants to go to a gun & knife show to attend it.

That was a generous thing to say. It speaks to your ethics. :rockwoot:

Well I guess you are much smarter than me cause I let the promoter handle the situation once he finally got to the table. First one to drop the ball was the door guy then the promoter. Both of them wimped out big time.
The wierdo said it was a joke I am still waiting for the punchline.
All I was to to the promoter was a female who over-reacted and he didnt think this guy was a threat to me at all. If this had happened to his wife or daughter I wonder if he would have thought the same way. All I know is the guy didnt put my knife down till I pulled out my gun. :rockwoot: My mistake was allowing 2 wimps to handle the situation and they both failed. The promoter is at fault on how he handle this and I will not give him any support just like he didnt give me any. Yes I should have called the police myself and I wish I had of but I liked the promoter enough at that time to do as he asked.
Put the blame where it belongs and to me it is at the promoters feet period. He should have come to my rescue since I had a witness who was hired by the promoter to confirm how the wierdo acted. I guess us vendors are not considered customers to the promoters :dunno: only the customers who pay $5 to get in are. The customer according to Greg is a regular and Greg has nick named him the guy who wears the " daisy dukes"
Yep you heard it right. Now doesnt that sound like a sound minded customer. Yes I am stilll very much sensitive to this whole incident and it uspets me that I have to look at gun shows through different eyes now. The fun is gone and so is the trust as least for now. This was frightening for me and since you were not there you cannot get the feel for the way this acted and how he would jab the knife towards me while he asked me his question. I am amazed at how easy men want to put the blame on me when I did stand up to this guy but all the other men whimped out. He should have been escorted out of the show and I should ahve been asked if I wanted the police to be called and then he should have been told not to ever come back to any of this promoter's shows. Period.

Daisy Dukes! I know that weirdo!! No,it's not me this time!!! At least I remember seeing him the many times when I had set up my holsters and knives on the stage/first 2 tables on the right as you got to the top of the stairs. It was a target rich environment looking over all I could survey...

I was at the show and I talked to you before this happened and my comment (if you care to re-read it) has nothing to do with anyone being smarter than anyone else and I did (again in my comment) put the blame on the promoter. I simply didn't understand why you didn't call the police. No more; no less. Also, nothing was said by me about blaming you for anything.
Just as no one should blame you, in any way, for what happened, you should not infer, in any way, that I condone anything done by the instigator or the promoter concerning this.
That is all I have to say about this matter on this board.
