But Chicago Police superintendents are like baseball managers and football coaches. They’re hired to be fired. Failure and crises are literally built into the job. When it comes, a head needs to roll. The sacrificial lamb inevitably is the man on top — even though he’s not responsible for the number of wins and losses.
As long as they keep it on their side of the boarder, I could care less what Chicago does.
McCarthy needed firing big time, but I would hate to have that job at this time. Will take some huge leadership skills to make the changes that need made in Chicago.

Well said and here in Hobart in the last year the Fire Chief quit on a Friday and was put on the police dept the following Monday.A Chief's job is not to make changes or lead. A Chief's job is to deliver bad news for the Mayor and to fall on his sword when politically expedient. They are, for the most part, just another political appointee.
Yep.
I like the idea of building a solid brick wall twice as high as it needs to be so no one can get in or out. Then fill it with water and watch the rats drown.
That happened to New Orleans's and now the rest of the country still deals with there trash.
