I say yes. They both are out to effect some kind of change but the whole issue is that the tea party was berated up one side and down the other as being this vile, evil, mean, racist, entity that was prone to creating an atmosphere that could foment violence. The talking heads like Nancy Pelosi and others try to trash the tea party any opportunity they could. Contrast that against the fact that they actually came out with their support for the OWS movement and egged them on to stick it to the corporate world.

I can see it now. Site gets snow and ice covered they demand the city clear it. Someone slips and falls then a lawsuit.
