I recently bought an M&P 15 and it needs a trigger job. My question is, where do I start? I have never attempted a trigger job on an AR, so please be detailed. Knowing what I have said do I do it myself or do I pay to have it done, and if I pay to have it done, how much will it cost me?
Thanks for the help in advance.

What is your enteded use of the rifle? Target, varmint, competition? The end use will dictate what type of trigger you want. It will also help direct you where to look for a replacemnt trigger or what gunsmith to visit.

I will be using the rifle for a little bit of everything. I will mostly be predator hunting and hole punching with it. I am mainly looking for a lighter and more crisp trigger.

I just do a set screw above grip screw and JP Enterprises spring kit. Makes GI parts usable :)
Somebody probably has it written up. I just did it on my own.

Even take a bit off the back of the trigger and front of disconnector to get more creep out.

I had a jp trigger in a Colt because nothing else would fit. It ended up being a pretty nice trigger. I remember having to trim one of the adjustment screws to make clearance for the selector switch to go into safe position, but it was no big deal.
