I only got to put 30 rounds through it today. Finding the dot is as easy as lining up your sights. Accuracy is amazing, but it quickly shows sloppy gun control.

Yup, just line up your sights like normal and the dot is there.

How does it track during faster strings? Do you lose the dot or is it fairly easy to reacquire?

I only shot two fast strings, but I noticed that finding the dot was instant.

Good to hear. In the few times I've shot a pistol with a red dot, I found that I sometimes spent more time trying to find the dot than I would if I was just getting back on the sights. But I think once that's overcome, the dot would be much faster.

Did you do any longer-range shooting?

Obviously fundamentals are fundamentals, but I'm curious if the single aiming point of a red dot would make longer distance shots easier.

From what I've read, consistent 100 yard shots aren't too hard.

Never used it on a .44, but if any of them will hold up to it, the Trijicon RMR will. Mine gets beat up pretty bad and has not failed yet.
