TV Theme Songs

I was talking to my wife the other day after watching some old shows- and we noted that they seemed to put a lot more work into theme songs. Some of them set up the premise of the show, some were just cool

Let's post a few that you like and why.

I will start with a cheat- a great song that was used as a theme song 25 years later:



The first season of Crime Story was great, not as good the second season...and then that was it.

Strange. I don't recall this show at all. Interesting cover of the original tune, though.

Can't be a theme song thread without at least this one from the iconic Jan Hammer. Sets the mood perfectly.



Liked this opener as well even though it was way overplayed on radio.

Nah....you don't even get in without well developed pedantry skills.

A number of years ago I worked at one of the local jails. I vividly remember walking the halls whistling the theme song from Andy Griffin show....over and over again. Pretty soon a number of inmates from different blocks were whistling along......
