Old thread but there is a shop near me that hosts a Cowboy Shooting club and he solely sells Uberti SA revolvers and doesn't recommend The "New" Vaqueros but if I could find an "Old" vaquero it would be worth investing in. Any thoughts on why?

Which shop? The only one over that way I can think of is Kempf's.

I have no experience with the Vaquero, but I have a blackhawk and its built like a tank. If you reload, most reloading books have a section for TC and Ruger only loads because they are so strong.

Once knew a fellow that shot .44 mags in his .45 Blackhawk and never could figure out why he couldn't hit anything.
Didn't hurt the gun none but surely did lead up his barrel.

About the '73 Colts, nothing can beat a Model 1909 but a single action Colt with 4 5/8" barrel (especially one chambered for 38-40) is a wonderful thing indeed.

By the way, I love my break over .45 Colt, a very versatile rifle.

And, it can be muzzleloaded with black as an inline.

    I can prove different, lol

I blew this Super up long ago... Glad it wasn't a Model 29 it would have evaporated in my hand.

Nice looking cast bullet, what mold is that from?
