Ubuntu live CD, no-go on my PC.

I finally got around to trying it and it boots up, then as soon as I do anything other than move the mouse (click on an icon, right click, whatever), the screen goes black and then asks for a login. I hit enter because I haven't set one up. It loads back up the desktop, I do anything again, and it goes black then asks for a login again. It just does this over and over.

If I type anything in the log in, it says it is wrong.

Any ideas?

Your X server is crashing. What happens if you tap a key without moving the mouse? Maybe you've got the wrong mouse driver set up.


LiveCD...not sure you get the option of choosing a mouse driver.
