If you were to watch the video, you would discover it makes a great deal of difference to the families of the men that Sgt. York slandered by accusing of them hiding while he supposedly did all of the fighting.“At this point, what difference does it make”
The strangest part to me is why he didn't just tell the whole story at some point, the difference doesn't seem that significant to me regarding the heroism of his own actions that day. The only thing I can figure is that he felt his MOH rested upon him leading the charge, and that was the reason to leave out the others. I don't know.
I do agree with you that I don't think it is going to make any real difference, it's a story that will be largely ignored.
