Huh. I've been using that word for near twenty years now.

Often in phrases like, "He's a ***gardly ***gard, full of **gardness."

Along the same lines, wearing any red ball cap, with any or no logo, is now considered to be equivalent to wearing a Klan hood and declaring yourself a white supremacist.

I think that's not "red", but officially "scarlet", and they usually have some grey.

    Just an opinion.

When one uses words as they always have, properly and with intent to be provocative, no problem. People who get upset at that, they're the DB.

When one uses words that sound like other words simply to get a reaction or prove some kind of point or to get as close to saying something unacceptable as they can, that person is the DB.

Now I'll just wait for the first: "why is it OK for some people to use words, but not other people?"

    It's like the word ignorant.

Even if it's said in the most pleasant of contexts, they will still hear you calling them a ****************** ****** ********!!

And on one hand I think its silly to get ones panties in a bunch because it sounds like a bad word.

But considering it isnt in common use, and we have plenty of other words to use in its place, I have no trouble with it just NOT being used. Its not like we dont have other words like...

cheap, chintzy, close, closefisted, mean, mingy, miserly, parsimonious, penny-pinching, penurious, pinching, pinchpenny, spare, sparing, stingy, stinting, tight, tightfisted, uncharitable, ungenerous,INGOer

So yeah, not using that word wont put anyone at a loss.
    You forgot one!;)
