In case you missed it, you can find the deer harvest numbers on the DNR website at www.deer.dnr.in.gov.

As of this morning at 8:30 CST the kill is - 76,482

What is your prediction on a total kill for this season?

The night before firearms opener it was 30600 and change. So 47,000 in a week, my total guess is 108,000 through firearms and 120,000 overall

It was down approx. 5,000 last year from previous year so I will guess the decreasing pattern stays the same and go with 115,000 total.

When I turned in my buck at Archers in Greenwood, they said that they had 200+ the opening day and were well over 200 by 2:00pm on Sunday. My buddy had to bring his 3 in to Archers as his regular place was booked full. Heard people saying the same about other places.

I didn't see any scrawny deer being checked in either. There were a lot of really big bucks. Last year, there didn't seem to be many big bucks being checked in, at least when I was there.

I going to predict that we have 125+K this year.

As of this morning we have checked in 90,500 deer. Early on opening morning before legal shooting time the count was 30,500. That means that approximately 60,000 deer have been checked in during the firearm season so far.

Looking at the same dates from the record setting year of 2012 the count was 60,253, so we are very close to that record setting year..

Some areas of the state might be hurting on deer but it is pretty evident from the kill so far that other areas aren't.

I think we will end up slightly under last year's 120K but not drastically lower. Will depend on what kind of weather we get this weekend and for ML season. I like that they have this feature but it'd be nice to see a more detailed breakdown like count per county, antlered vs antlerless, weapon used etc. I know the end of season report has that stuff but itd be interesting to watch now too.

It is nice to follow it. I think we will top 125,000.

The IDNR IT guru will expand it next year..

Using last year’s numbers which wasconsidered an “off year.”

Last year the last 5 days of firearmseason we killed 17,965 deer

    Muzzleloader – 10,347

Late antlerless season we killed6,436 deer

I can’t verify the kill in latearchery for 2013 as the DNR combined the early and late archery in 2012 but in 2011 the kill was 1,726 and that did not include the crossbows that we cannow use, nor the archery season running until January 31 in the “Deer ReductionZones”. So throw in another conservative estimate of 500 with crossbows and thelate January kill.

    94,907

    17,965

    6,436

    10,347

    2,276

    Total - 131,931

But I have a feeling it will behigher than that considering the amount of deer that we have killed so far. Itcould push the record…

    Currentreported deer harvest:

    99313

As of Friday, November 27, 2015 at 5:05 AM CST .

That is approximately 2,002 deer checked in on Thanksgiving day. That is733 more deer than was checked in on the same date in 2012, the recordyear.

The 2012 firearm season take was 72,120 deer.

We entered the firearm season with 30,500 deer checked in.

So far that means that 68,813 deer have been checked in since openingday.

That leaves us 3,307 deer short of the 2012 firearm record. Three daysto get that number, but LOTS of rain is forecast.

Yeah, with a big buck in the freezer, I don't know how motivated I will be to go out in the rain to fill my bonus tag. Plus, as warm as it is, it makes processing a rush.
