Over the weekend I heard someone discussing the new operating system and the availability of ad blockers. (They may have been available on earlier versions--don't know). So, today I upgraded and installed an ad blocker (Web Block)...and what a breath of fresh air! Various web sites load SO MUCH faster now.

    Pretty satisfied for now.

Glad to hear! If you have any trouble give me a PM. I'm currently a part of AppleCares international division! I handle issues with iOS devices, Apple Watch, Beats, iCloud, iTunes etc.

I know people love ad free web sites, who doesn't, but do you think they will survive with no ad revenue? For example, I'm sure INGO needs the money that the ads generate to provide the site that you enjoy so much. Web site either need revenue from ads or a subscription model to survive. You'll pay one way or another.

If everyone uses an ad blocker, advertisers will stop paying for the ads and poof, your favorite sites are gone. Just something to think about.

That's why many sites have site supporters....

I don't mind the ads. I mind all the tracking and scripting that goes on that causes the links to load so slowly. It's really gotten bad the last year or two or three.

You can limit the tracking without an ad blocker. Go to settings, privacy, advertising and turn on limit ad tracking. You can also reset your ad id in the same place.

Very true, like this site for example. I pay to support it as do you. But site supporters are not enough to keep this site open or they wouldn't go to the trouble of getting advertisers.

Hooefully the big kahuna here will add his thoughts on this issue
