I have been planning to pick up my Utah license for a little while now and Richmond is just down the road from me!:rockwoot:

One quick question. Do I need to bring my handgun and ammuntion or is this only classroom instruction?

    Thanks,
    Bobby

Thanks for sharing this, is there a reason I am not aware that I would choose a Utah non-resident license over another state such as Florida? I have been researching this option as I drive to Virginia and DC quite a bit. Thanks in advance for your advice.

The Utah license is good in Ohio while our LTCH is not. Whoops! Just saw that you have more to your question. Maybe someone with more knowledge than I will chime in!

    It's classroom only. No shooting.

Maybe OP can answer this question.

Do you have to have an Indiana LTCH before applying for the Utah non-resident? I heard that it was recently changed to where you did.

Utah CCW Class is classroom only. Minimum 4 hours but classes usually take at least 5 to 5.5 hrs with questions.

Utah did change their requirements. You do need a permit from your homestate when you apply. You do not need that permit to take this class as this class is good for one year.
So let's say someone has applied for an IN LTCH but doesnt have it yet, you can take this class, then when your LTCH from IN arrives, you copy it and proceed on with the Utah application process.

    That is a personal choice.
Utah is a much less expensive permit overall and takes less time. The renewal process is also less expensive and is a 5 year permit. Its only 15 dollars to renew.
As far as CCW both give you about 33 states combined with an IN LTCH.

I just think the Utah is simpler and you get a little more bang for the buck. I thought about becoming a FL instructor but didnt see any real reason for it.

Hey that post wasnt about you Jubba, its just we always have people who try to sign up late for the the early registration fee and that isnt fair to those who signed up early.
    You're good.
