So Vermont passed a ban on fracking for natural gas....BFD. Vermont has no natural gas operations, no plans to look for natural gas, and even if they had some there's no proof that it would require fracking to get. This is just another incidence of the idiocy of taking a stand when it costs you nothing. Ohio can ban saltwater fishing, Arizona can ban snow plows, North Dakota can ban palm tree harvesting, its all the same animal. When West Virginia bans coal mining I'll pay attention.

Until then, the enviromentalist nannies will rejoice at the nothing they have created and then try to convince the rest of the US to follow "Vermont's leadership"....

At least once a week there is a thread started that says. "I love my Glock. Does anyone else love their Glock?" and then we have 20 pics of the same exact pistol in various positions and backgrounds. I think it's because it's human nature to throw a thought out there and see what others think and threads are the glue to the fabric of our lives.

For the purpose of illuminating the often overlooked stupidity of some of our brain-dead countrymen who will make an empty stand and then posture for leadership in a controversy in which they have no skin in the game. Unfortunately, this had become far too common an occurrence--almost like elitists who have gated communities and/or armed guards arguing for gun bans because they are insulated from the need for defense, like Ted Kennedy and his little flap with his squad of guards bringing their select-fire toys into the Senate office building.

I've been there. Picked up a load of chocolate chips, closest CatScale was in Quebec . Closest US location was over an hour away. I ended up being overweight, but still managed to sneak through all the way to southern IL (just outside of St. Louis) without hitting a single open weigh station.

I went there once. Stayed at a bed and breakfast owned by some guy named Bob, real nice guy. Had some guys over there helping out sometimes. Three brothers. One was named Darrel, and so were the other two.
