I think the city planners should get a participation medal for that shoot. The development requirements apparently included adequate hard cover and backstops.

No kidding, great backstop and cover available, etc.

So it probably wasn't an ND. It was a shot from the suspect's gun when the victim grabbed it. Which is all explained in the briefing, if anyone bothered to watch the whole thing.

I watched it again. That was the male officer's weapon light that came on. He jerked when he heard the shot. And the officer on the left quit shooting when the hostage went by. Guess I shouldn't be on my phone at work. I heard the female officer talking and saw the flash and thought she discharged her weapon. They did a good job all around. Even the hostage. Good thing she was able to get away.

I was wondering why the hostage didn't turn the pistol on the robber if she got it away from him. I'm guessing she actually couldn't take it away and dumped the magazine, and then the robber let go of it and went for his rifle.
