I get that this is stupid and terrible. But why does the linked article start out by leaning so hard into "Lovejoys law"?

Typically an argument goes on for a bit before someone starts yelling "why would they somebody think of the children?!?!!"

Why can't the argument come from a place of facts instead if a basic appeal to emotion?

Northam blackface report is "inconclusive". Investigators could not say for sure whether Northam is in the infamous yearbook photo.

Odd, since he already admitted he was in it.
