Today the Law Offices of Guy A. Relford filed suit against Walgreen Company based on Walgreen's termination of an employee for lawfully carrying a handgun at a Walgreen store where he did not work -- while he was off duty.

When selecting a pharmacy or convenience store, you might consider Walgreen's anti-gun policies.

Go get'em Guy. I have pulled ALL of my prescriptions from there a year or so ago. They will never get another dollar of mine!

Interesting. My wife used to work as a night-manager at Walgreens. On more than one occasion, I carried openly into the office with the Store manager there without issue.

I haven't been in Walgreens for a year, maybe longer. this just solidifies my decision that they are useless, scared, crybabies that will never get another cent from me, or anyone I can convince to NOT shop there.

The local Walgreens is refusing to fill prescriptions. My wife's back specialist was telling her they've been calling to find out why a person is on medication and for how long, then they're refusing to fill.

Way to go Guy! Go get 'em. :)

Off topic, but I always find it interesting that with prescription drugs they also sell a lot of booze and junk food. What a combo!

that's not all that unusual actually. The amount of narcotics fraud is incomprehensible. more people die from prescription narcotics every year than heroin and cocaine now.

Do they have a legal obligation to fill the prescription? Not to derail the thread, but I wonder.

Understand, but how can they claim fraud if they are calling the doctor and confirming? And yes, they have every right to refuse service for just about any reason.

I love how drugstores make the sick people walk all the way to the back for their meds, while the healthy can buy their cigarettes and booze right by the front door.

It has to do with design of building. It's harder for someone robbing the pharmacy. People usually don't rob drugstores at front counter, attempts are usually made at the pharmacy. Takes longer to escape. Not much, but there are more chances for visual descriptions and details.
