Walther P22 Help

Went to the range this morning and took my dads P22. Shot about 4 mags through it no problem. Loaded up another mag after that and go to fire, nothing happens. I pull the trigger, hammer falls and the round doesn't go off. Try it in double action same thing happens. I was shooting both Federal Lightning and CCI Mini-Mags and same thing with both types. I tried both mags as well so I don't think it is an ammo or mag problem.
The gun is an early production P22 made in 2002 with an A3000 range SN.

Are you sure you didn't engage the safety. That pistol will still let the trigger and hammer work when the safety is on, it engages a hammer block

I can double check next time I take it out. I could have hit it by accident
