    Question.

I am wanting a compact 1911 in a bad way but my budget allows around $425. Is is possible in this craze? And... Would the next upcoming 1500 be a place to find this deal? I'm guessing this is a impossible trek at this point and time. :)

Save your money till you can afford a better one. You get what you pay for in a 1911. Before all the RIA fans chime in, it is the worst handgun I had ever bought. :twocents::D

You might get lucky and find something used. If you could save for a while and come up in price $100 it would probably help you a lot. Keep your eyes open and good luck.

I absolutely LOVE my RIA Compact, and I own/have owned some serious high-dollar pistols to compare it against. It does exactly what I bought it to do, and does it well.

Thanks for the info. I figured I'd have to wait a while. I'll just take cash to the show and see what I find. I have no problem walking away with cash still in hand. Used is fine with me. I'll probably have to spend another $200-$300 in ammo just to break it in.

I had a RIA 1911 compact tactical for about a year and LOVED it. Never had one problem and really thought the gun was great for the $400 I paid for it. I was not a huge 1911 guy and I never understood why people paid $1000+ for a 1911

Only reason I got rid of it was to trade for a Sub 2000

I'd get a RIA over a Llama, but if you're wanting something to use as an EDC (Every Day Carry) you'd be better off saving a bit more and getting something in the $600-700 price range (used you can find some SA, I'm rather certain)

I replaced my EDC 5" model with one and although I didn't have any problems concealing the Government Model, I do find the Compact a tad bit more comfortable when sitting. I had some concerns about the reliability of the shorter length version, so I went with the best I could afford, but from what I can garner the gremlins mostly affect those 1911s with barrel lengths under 3.75 inches, so 4" and up should be fine.
