    Once you start reloading, you will realize how versatile the 44 mag is. Light cast bullet loads for plinking/target, mid range loads for plinking/hunting, and heavy bullet loads for hunting and the cool factor.


    And then there is the 44 Special brass for it.. Lots of things can be done with those big hunks of lead when you can vary the speed of delivery that much.

    "First wheel gun", was your intention to start at the top and work your way down? In all seriousness, that is a beautiful gun. Only problem is, smaller calibers just never seem to measure up anymore.

    This is too true! My first wheel gun was my 29-2, 6" nickle .44, and nothing else has done it for me but .454 Casull!

    I absolutely love wheel guns so to see another person buy into them is always nice. Smith and Wesson is a good choice and I think you made a good buy. Plus the 44 mag is very versatile.

    Im always on a hunt for a good wheel gun, I have a couple smiths, but wouldn't mind finding me an old colt soon.
