    From an article online:

West Point center cites dangers of ‘far right’ in U.S.

A West Point think tank has issued a paper warning America about “far right” groups such as the “anti-federalist” movement, which supports “civil activism, individual freedoms and self-government.”

The report issued this week by the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., is titled “Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right.”
The center — part of the institution where men and women are molded into Army officers — posted the report Tuesday. It lumps limited government activists with three movements it identifies as “a racist/white supremacy movement, an anti-federalist movement and a fundamentalist movement.”

The West Point center typically focuses reports on al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists attempting to gain power in Asia, the Middle East and Africa through violence.

But its latest study turns inward and paints a broad brush of people it considers “far right.”

It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government. Extremists in the anti-federalist movement direct most their violence against the federal government and its proxies in law enforcement.”
The report also draws a link between the mainstream conservative movement and the violent “far right,” and describes liberals as “future oriented” and conservatives as living in the past.

“While liberal worldviews are future- or progressive-oriented, conservative perspectives are more past-oriented, and in general, are interested in preserving the status quo.” the report says. “The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage of the nation or ethnic community.”

The report adds: “While far-right groups’ ideology is designed to exclude minorities and foreigners, the liberal-democratic system is designed to emphasize civil rights, minority rights and the balance of power.”

The report says there were 350 “attacks initiated by far-right groups/individuals” in 2011.Details about what makes an attack a “far right” action are not clear in the report, which was written by Arie Perliger, who directs the center’s terrorism studies and teaches social sciences at West Point.

A Republican congressional staffer who served in the military told The Washington Times: “If [the Defense Department] is looking for places to cut spending, this junk study is ground zero.

“Shouldn’t the Combating Terrorism Center be combating radical Islam around the globe instead of perpetuating the left’s myth that right-wingers are terrorists?” the staffer said. “The $64,000 dollar question is when will the Combating Terrorism Center publish their study on real left-wing terrorists like the Animal Liberation Front, Earth Liberation Front, and the Weather Underground?”

Given the origin of this material, I have to question the analytical methods of those who insist that the military would never ever turn on us. If the up and coming leaders are being taught this tripe and those on the ground may offer some resistance at least until they see a couple of their colleagues imprisoned, disappeared, or executed, I don't feel a lot of security here. I am sure that there are plenty who would honor their oath, but how many would blindly follow orders? I would recommend review of the incident with the 'bonus army'.

The author is dead center on the strange ideas in circulation regarding terrorism, but then again, according to the federal government, believing in the second coming of Christ makes a person a terrorist.

Next thing you know, they'll start claiming people actually believe that Sandy Hook was planned and executed by the government in order to disarm the populace.

It is almost as if the United States is becoming extremely paranoid and turning on itself. Even a hard belief in the Constitution can be enough to raise suspicion.

I have been studying this country through the lens of the Constitution for over 30 years.

In doing so I have watched our country slowly slide further away from the principles of the Founding Fathers and enumerated in our Constitution.

I have watched freedom for individual Americans incrementally being stripped and exchanged for a perceived sense of security for the collective.

From 9/11 this slide and assault on the Constitution has accelerated tremendously under the Republican George Bush and continued with Barack Obama.

Obama claims to be an Progressive which is a softer word for Socialism. He has an powerful political machine like I have never seen.

It appears that the Progressive dogma is infecting all the great institutions of America including our military institutions.

Soon maybe even being a Libertarian, Tea Bagger, Baptist or even a Republican may earn the title of Far Right!

According to DHS, being a veteran, believing in following the Constitution, supporting the Second Amendment, opposing illegal immigration, opposing abortion, or believing in the second coming of Christ makes a person at minimum a potential terrorist. Strangely, people who have actually engaged in acts of terrorism personally or are members of organizations in the habit of doing so don't make the cut. I would say we are already there.

“More directly linked to the impact of technology, it involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled and directed society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite whose claim to political power would rest on allegedly superior scientific know how. Unhindered by the restraints of traditional liberal values, this elite would not hesitate to achieve it sends by using the latest modern techniques for influencing public behavior and keeping society under close surveillance and control”

I just went back to The West Point site and attempted to find any papers published on "Radical Far Left" or on radical socialism/communism, Nation of Islam or even Black Pantherism.

The latter two which are active as evidenced this last election. I found none, but it is possible that it exists but I just could not find it.

The paper is focused on and paints all of us with the white supremacy/rascist anti-immigrant brush, and in particular as being prone to violence.

This appears to be a foreshadowing, a warning to those of us who are willing to speak out against excessive federal spending, Immigration, or who point out infringements upon the Constitution and Federal Laws such as the NDAA.
It attempts to silence The People!

It appears that there is a strong movement against the Constitution and our traditional America values that has made this country great! The movement is starting to infiltrate our military establishment. It does not bode well for traditional conservative caucasian Americans!

"Persisting social crisis, the emergence of a charismatic personality, and the exploitation of mass media to obtain public confidence would be the steppingstones in the piecemeal transformation of the United States into a highly controlled society."
