Major gun manufactures used to make firearms branded for various retail companies. This is a Marlin Model 49 circa 1969 made for Western Auto Supply Company. They sold these in their retail stores. Based on information I can find, this model was only made from 1969 to 1971.
The gun looks good and shoots well but has a barrel bulge and shows the wear and scratches you would expect for a well used rifle sold somewhere around 1969.
I am located in NE Indianapolis. I will travel a reasonable distance to allow inspection of and/or deliver the rifle.
Because of the age of the rifle and the barrel bulge I am willing to meet at a nearby gun range to allow the gun to be inspected and shot before finalizing purchase. Because of low price for the gun, we will have to split to cost of range time. Please, serious cash buyers only.
