How can you tell when it was made? What its worth? I've never seen a trigger move with the lever action. This thing is beautiful. I know its a Montgomery ward made by mossberg under name western field. That's as far as I got.

    Numrich's store brand reference

Brand Cross Reference | Numrich Gun Parts

    says it's a Mossberg 472PRA.

Typing that into my non Bing search shows a couple of threads........where I pulled this:

The Mossberg model 472PCA,PCB,SCA,SCB,PRA,PRB and SBA were 1st introduced in the 1974 Mossberg annual catalog.

They changed the model to the 479PCA,PCB,SCA and SCB in the 1980 Mossberg annual catalog.

Being a non .30=30 for general deer hunting state, such rifles may bring less than what they would in other places.
But many folks have a romance of that round, and lever guns, so it may be decent.
Somebody may have fond memories of a comparable rig and pay above going rate to have it.
    Ya just never know.
