Best I've done is $1600. I'd buy another at $1500 though.

i got this for 1500 little over 2 years ago...

I'd take a few months and shop the classifieds for the best deal on a 5" all stainless gun. Use the rest of your $ for ammo. Shoot it a lot, fast and hard, before you determine it "reliable."

Excellent score! Beats my $1600 CQB Elite. I did pick up from another member a full-on custom gun that Wilson built from a Colt frame and slide for less than $1K, but I'm thinking that was a "once in a lifetime" kind of deal.

If the OP could replicate your purchase that would be his best deal, for sure!

+1 to the MC Operator, But they tend to be hard to find and dont generally last to long.

Bradis has a beautifull Colt Combat Elite if it isnt gone by now. I cant remember the price but I pretty sure it was right in that range. If I hadnt gotten the MC Operator i wouldve gotten the Colt.

We think alike. The Colt Special Combat Gov was my other choice for a 1911.

I would suggest looking in the classifieds for a nice used springfield armory or kimber and save yourself some money for ammo.

A friend of mine just bought a Kimber Pro Covert II, and it's pretty cool. I just got a Springfield. I'd suggest them to anyone.

Colt has great resale value, have heard a ton of good about Kimber. I've shot a S&W 1911, it was highly accurate.
