I carry with Speer Gold Dot +P Short Barrel 124gr. Federal Hydrashok has been around for a while with good repute. Hornady Critical Defense is getting rave reviews, but it hasn't been around for a long time yet. Winchester SXT are a resurrected Black Talon.

In short, just about any JHP these days will get the job done for you. Just make sure that you buy enough to run a few mags through your gun to make sure everything is compatible.

I go with Federal HST & and just buy a couple boxes whenever I catch it on sale online (ammo purchasing options SUCK in Bedford & Bloomington) but like stated above you should be ok with just about any of the big name manufacterer premium JHP's these days.

My 9mms like Gold Dots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But I've used cheap Federal Hydra-Shocks when 50 was like $23 and I never had a problem with them either.

I still like to check 100 rounds of my choice while trying to induce failures on any weapon system with the specific load. It may sound expensive, but I'd rather spend $100 on ammo than only $20 on what becomes a hammer when I need it most.

    Winchester Supreme Elite Bonded PDX1 9mm (124 or 147gr)

I have been impressed by the reviews online and if this brand of bonded round is good enough for the FBI, then it’s good enough for me.

:+1: I've used these for years, in different handguns, and never had a problem with them.

I have some Federal 115 gr JHP because I practice with FMJs of the same weight for cheap. It's harder to find 124 or 147 gr loads in FMJ for practice.
I want to have the same feel when I shoot either with SD ammo or practice ammo so I dont get heavy loads or +P loads because I cant practice with that.

Where are you folks finding the 9BPLE? I used to buy it in St Louis and haven't found it in Indy.

Excellent ammo under the "Classic" line, IIRC.
